Three top hats (Left to right: leather, vintage collapsible silk, wool felt).

Left to right: leather, vintage collapsible silk, wool felt. I offered to loan a friend a top hat, and he was confused when I said he'd want to choose. Choose implies a) there's more than one kind of top hat, and b) that the multiples are available to choose from. (The leather one used to be uncrumpled, and as the creases set in it's never going to be as Mad Hatter/Willy Wonka as it was. On the other hand, if I want to do Hugo Weaving's Satan character from Cloud Atlas for Halloween next year it's perfect for that look now.)

Apparently a giant banana car is touring the world. Tonight it drove past where I was standing on a sidewalk near Five Points in Raleigh. I have other witnesses. And a photograph.
